10 Commandments at City Hall

      The City of Bloomfield had a very nice stone piece posting the 10 Commandments.  It was so appropriate to remember that our government exists under a higher power and greater Law-giver.  Some members of our community protested by suing the City of Bloomfield and the City was forced to move the 10 Commandments.  They said it was wrong because there was not a separation of Church and state.  Our country was founded on the principle of freedom OF religion.  But many are seeking freedom FROM religion.

      So far, it is impossible to have a state with freedom FROM religion.  The great Bible tells us that God created all things.  Time and space are important things.  Our city buildings are built in space that God has created.  Our city buildings use time that God has created to occupy the God-created space.  If we are so high-minded that we want freedom From religion, we need to stop using space that God has created and spending time designed by God.  Here is the challenge: Go and create your own space to exist in.  Go and design your own time to exist in that space.  And why stop there?  Discard your body that God has marvelously created.  Go and design your own body to exist in.  Make your own body to exist in space that you have created with time you have designed.  And why stop so soon?  Do you believe we should not murder each other?  That is a commandment of God.  (Thou Shalt Not Kill).  Go and make your own laws.  Do you believe we should not steal from our neighbors.  Again, that is a commandment of God.  Go and make your own laws.  

      Are we high and mighty, protesting citizens able to accomplish these basic tasks?  We can take some of God's created time to try.  Let's not forget any small details.  We will need plenty of nuclear glue to bond our atoms of protons and neutrons together.  That is if we are able to create them out of nothing.  Let us not forget to design the orbit for our electrons.

      If we can accomplish these basics, the next question is this: can we become as God?  Can we gain infinite wisdom and knowledge?  Can we attain infinite power?  Can we be present in a million places at the same time?  Can we share in the glory of God?  In Isaiah 42:8, God has stated, "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another,..."

      It is possible to have what our founding fathers intended - Freedom OF religion.  We have the freedom to choose our religion.  God, our higher Law-giver, intends for us to govern ourselves.  But the thought of freedom FROM religion is a ridiculous and false narrative!

Preaching From a Wire

      It is facinating to see 50 birds sitting together on a telephone line or a bunch of geese together on a golf fairway or football field.  The way they eat together, fly together and live together gives them a sense of community.  They are able to communicate and warn each other of danger.  They are not giving us a narcissistic message of "survival of the fittest".  They are not trying to see who is the most evolved or talented in flight.  They are not focused on the weakest of them dying off.  They functioned as a group.  They act like they are fine just the way they are with no evolving needed.
      In the creation story in Genesis, God made an interesting observation about creation.  He didn't look at the birds and say they had a lot evolving to do.  He said they were good just like they were.  "And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.  And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:20-21)  In verse 10, God observed the land and sea and said it was good.  He did not observe any necessary evolving at that point.  In verse 12, God observed that the grass, the herbs and trees were good.  In verse 18, God saw that the stars, the moon and the sun were good.  In verse 25, God saw that the animals were good.  In verse 31, God saw that every thing he made, including man and woman, was good.
      So what about this sense of community?  1 John 4:8 says "...God is love."  How could God love before man was created?  Who could he love?  In 1 John 4:3, the Spirit confesseth that Jesus Christ is come int the flesh.  In Hebrews 3-12 we see that Jesus is our Melchisedec High Priest and mediator before God in Heaven.  In John 3:16&17 we see that God sent us his Son to save us.  God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Spirit are all working in different ways and yet are working together in community.  Love was present before God loved man.  Genesis 1:26 says, "And God said, Let us make man in our image...."  We were created through a group effort.
      The birds are not sending us an evolutionary message of survival of the fittest.  They are giving us  a message of community - of the nature and character of their creator.  They are preaching a message about our Great God.

Separation of Church and State

      Public schools are supposed to recognize the separation of church and state.  It can be quite difficult however.  The Bible says that God is the maker of all things.  At school students breath air that God created.  The school buildings sit in space that was created by God.  Teachers use time that God has created to teach students.  To have a true separation of Church and State, the state would need to create its own air.  The state would need to create it's own space for school buildings and create it's own time for teachers to teach in.

      I doubt the state could create air out of nothing.  It would be very hard for the state to create time and space out of nothing.  If the state was able to do so, more taxes would need to be created to pay for them.  There would probably be a tax on the amount of government-made air that we breathe.  We would probably be taxed on the amount of government-made space we use and the amount of govenment-made time that we use.

      Since our state presently has limited creative abilities, it will just have to depend on God creation for it's existence.  We are not going to have a true separation of church and state.

Evolution: Science or Racism

      Evolution is used to explain the origin of man.  However, it does not explain the origin of our universe.  Matter is needed for this theory.  The theory does not tell us how matter originated.  It assumes that matter has always existed.  This is unsatisfactory when looking for origin.  Matter needs space to exist in.  Evolution assumes that there has always been space available for matter to exist in.  What is the origin of space?  Matter also needs time to exist in the given space.  Evolution assumes that time has always existed.  Without time and matter, evolution is impossible.  Evolution can be thought of as an organizational philosophy for the universe.  It tries to explain how the universe was organized with existing matter, time and space.

      Time is an important part of the theory of evolution.  Time is assumed to be a constant and a means of measuring progress.  Million and billions of years are said to have been necessary for evolutionary processes.  When you hold a ruler in your hand, an inch is always a consistent distance.  Time is probably more of a variable than a consistent measure of evolution.  In a black hole, matter tends toward infinite density.  It is believed that the flow of time would cease at infinite density.  It is said that the flow of time stops at the speed of light.  Time is affected by gravity and speed.  Evolution pretends that time is always constant and doesn't vary in different environments.  I believe this definition of time is simply a part of our imagination.

      Information is another part of the evolutionary equation.  With the discovery of DNA, we now know that every cell has a blueprint or a plan.  So, i (information) has been added to update the theory.  This seems contrary to evolution.  Matter and energy are supposed to find a way to evolve on their own without a written plan or DNA guiding them.  The (i) information component needs to be taken out if evolution is really taking place. 

      Evolution can only be true if the 2nd law of Thermodynamics if false.  In reality, matter and energy naturally descend into disorder.  In evolution, matter and energy must take the initiative to evolve into more sophisticated arrangements.  This is probably more wishful thinking than scientific reality.

      As a part of scientific thought, the Theory of evolution is on very shaky ground if not impossible.  As a part of sociology, on the other hand, evolution is a big deal.  It demands discrimination.  One race has to be superior to other races.  One person or group has to be more evolved than the others.  Someone has to be "the most fit to survive".  The less evolved are supposed to die off in evolution.  The expression, "survival of the fittest," is loosely used in sporting events.  When we use that expression we mean that the best team will win and the others will lose.  In real evolution, however, the less fit group actually dies off.

      Slavery used to be supported with the argument that the black man was less evolved than the white man.  However, most of our best athletes in professional sports seem to be black.  Could black people be physically superior and more evolved than white people?  Men are usually physically stronger than women.  Does that mean that men are more evolved than women?  Women, on average, have a longer lifespan than men.  Are women more evolved since they survive longer than men?  In evolution, someone has to be more evolved and superior than everyone else.  In evolution, the less "fit to survive" need to die off.  This makes way for the superior to continue evolving.  Prejudice is necessary for objective evolutionary thought.

      In Hinduism, people try to do many good deeds and suffer extensively to get rid of their bad karma.  If this is done properly, it is believed that a person can eventually be reincarnated as a god.  It could be said that the god of evolution is the most evolved, the most fit and strongest creature.  

      It think it can easily be argued that the theory of evolution is less about science and more about racism!

      

Undermining Evolution

     We spend a lot of time and energy on our environment.  We recycle to help minimize waste.  We worry about plastic bottles littering our oceans, plastic bag kites, and pollution from coal, gas and oil.  Should we really spend time and energy trying to save our world?  Perhaps there are worlds that are superior to our world.  Perhaps this is not the "most fit" planet to survive.  If this is the case, we may be working against evolution by helping an inferior planet survive.  On the other hand, if our world is a superior planet, why do we need to help it.  In evolutionary thought, the superior survives on its own and doesn't actually need help.
      When I air up the tires on my car, the air machines says "Feed the Children".  We have many causes from breast cancer to solving the mystery of autism, to saving the whales from extinction.  However, in evolution, species are supposed to become extinct.  The weaker ones are supposed to die off and get out of the way of progress.  Only the strongest are supposed to survive and continue evolving.  Extinction is not a worry because new and better species are supposed to evolve.  Are our many causes a hindrance to evolution?  Are we getting in the way of progress?
      What about social issues?  Can racism be tolerated?  Can one race of people be deemed superior or more evolved and another race inferior or unnecessary for evolution's continual advancement?  Discrimination seems to be necessary for the process of evolution.  Medicaid and medicare are counterproductive to the process.  The evolution of the strongest parts of our society have to be the main focus.  Nature will naturally allow the strongest to continue and advance without our help.  While helping the poor and the weak is an important aspect of morality, it has nothing to do with the evolutionary process.
      We are flooded with a plethora of social and environmental causes.  If you really feel strongly about your favorite cause, perhaps you do not really believe in the reality of evolution.  Then again, perhaps evolution is not reality.  Perhaps it is just an overblown, worn-out theory.

Finding Survival of the Fittest

      Survival of the fittest is supposed to be the process of evolution. However, this process is hard to find.  A Cheetah hunting, killing and eating a gazelle may be given as an example of survival of the fittest.  If the Cheetah was practicing this belief, he would kill the whole herd of gazelles.  This would show that he is more fit to survive.  On the contrary the cheetah is thinking about a meal.  He kills a single gazelle and eats it.  When he gets full, other animals and birds come and finish the gazelle.  They are not wasteful with food.  
The survival of sheep is impressive.  Compared to many animals, sheep are rather defenseless.  Neither are they very smart.  How have they existed through ions of time?  They are an amazing story.  
Some animals are territorial - they will fight to protect their territory.  This may or many not result in injury.   Injured or not, they survive.  They do not fight to their death.  Dogs may have fierce fights over a female that is in heat.  The losers may be bloody, but they do not fight to their death.  They survive anyway. 
      Adolph Hitler sought to establish a superior race of human beings.  Jesse Owens answered this belief in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.  He was the best sprinter, winning gold medals and he was far from white.  This is not an example of evolution.
       Any time you turn on the world news, there is a war happening somewhere.  But this may not be an example of survival of the fittest.  The less fit person may be pulling the trigger and the more fit person may be on the receiving end of the weapon. 
      During a sporting event, an announcer may flippantly say "survival of the fittest".  He does not mean that he wants some of the athletes to die or not survive.  We actually want everyone that loses to survive. Simply saying "survival of the fittest" over and over does not make it a reality.  It is often talked about but difficult to find in the world.
      In Genesis 1:20-22, "...God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth."   God could have said let's see if these birds and animals can survive and evolve into something good.  But he didn't say that.  He said they were "good".  
      Genesis 1:24&25 says, "And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.  And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.  Again God could have said, "Let's see if these animals can survive and evolve into something good."  But instead he said that the animals were "good".  
      Genesis 1:26-31, "...God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.  And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good..."  Again God did not mention their survival rate of if they would evolve into something good.  God said everything was "good".  
      Survival of the fittest is part of our education and our society.  But it is more of an idea than a part of reality.
